“He has yet to beat me for 18 holes.”

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie hit a sensational hole-in-one at the PNC Championship, playing alongside his dad.

The 15-year-old made the ace on the fourth hole at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, holing with a 7-iron from 176 yards.

After an initial dumbstruck look, he was given a big hug by his legendary father, before some high fives from playing partners Bernhard Langer and his son Jason.

It moved Team Woods into solo lead after four holes of their final round.

Not to be undone, Paddy Harrington, son of Pádraig, made a hole-in-one of his own on the eighth hole, briefly moving his team into the lead.

Tiger said on Friday: “I’m not competitive right now. But I just want to be able to have the experience again.

“Yeah, he (Charlie) beat me for nine holes.

“He has yet to beat me for 18 holes. That day is coming – I’m just prolonging it for as long as I possibly can.

“I think he’s doing a great job. In this day and age where you have so many different – everyone is basically media, with all the phones. Being constantly filmed and constantly people watching, that’s just part of his generation, and that’s part of the world that he has to manoeuvre through.

“I try and do the best job I possibly can as a parent. I’m always here for him. But at the end of the day, I just want him to just be himself and live his own life.”
