The man who once ruled golf is now struggling to even get out of bed in the morning.
Like him or loathe him, but golf really isn’t the same since the beginning of Tiger Woods’ sad decline almost a decade ago now.
The former world number one has been a shadow of his former self as personal difficulties, and injuries, have dulled his edge, and kept him away from the course for the best part of the last two years.
Woods’ last appearance was the Wyndham Championship back in September, but in December he admitted that there was no timetable for his return to action after more surgery in October on a trapped nerve in his back.
However it seems that this career could very well come to a close if reports emerging from America prove to be true today.
Sunday saw tweets emerge about his health from the Secret Tour Pro Twitter account that made for grim reading.
And those tweets have been followed up today with more reports of the sorry state the multiple major winner finds himself in from a man who has written extensively about the golfer, Robert Lusetich.
I'm told #TigerWoods condition worsened. He can't move well; painful to sit. Sits in car with seat fully reclined. No forseeable return. Sad

About 90-95% of microdiscectomies – like #Tiger had – are successful.
He got unlucky.
Not to say career's over, but no imminent return.

However other reports suggest the golfer is just fine and his recovery is going as planned.
Tiger's agent is denying the various reports that suggest he's had a setback. Called it "ridiculous' and "absolutlely false.''
