Shane Lowry’s 2015 keeps getting better and better.
The Offaly golfer finished joint second at the British Masters over the weekend, and with the PGA Tour taking a week off for the Presidents Cup, that result has seen Lowry jump to 18th in the world rankings.
It’s a career high for the Irishman, who demonstrated he can mix it with the very best by winning the WGC event at Firestone in the summer.
Lowry also leapfrogs Justin Rose to move to fourth in the Race To Dubai rankings, while the the result also provides a welcome early bump in the Ryder Cup race, which started last month.
Rory McIlroy remains third behind Jordan Spieth and Jason Day.
