Over the two days his score averages out as okay though
If you ever needed proof of just how fickle the finger of golfing fate could be, John Hahn has just provided some proof.
Yesterday the golfer shot a stupendous 58 in Q School in Girona, Spain. Honestly, here’s his card.
That other-worldy round lifted him into the all important top 25 places and a card for next year on the European Tour with just two days left.
So, how did the American do on the penultimate day?
Well, he went around in 20 more shots, shooting a 78 on the admittedly harder Stadium Course. Yesterday he’d been on the Tour course in Girona, which is over 700 yards shorter. Anyway, here’s his card.
More importantly for Hahn, his 78 drops him outside the top 25, as he is now in a tie for 49th, four shots off the players in the precious places at -6 or better.
Peter Lawrie is best of the Irish, on -5, Kevin Phelan and Simon Thornton are a shot further back on -4 and Gareth Maybin is on level par with one day to go.
NOTE: The original version of this story said that Hahn had scored 78 on the same course as he shot 58. That has since been amended.
