The Open is destined for a Monday finish and what a day it promises to be.
You’ve got world number 2 Jordan Spieth, chasing the third leg of a Grand Slam. There’s Louis Oosthuizen, attempting to repeat his win at St Andrew’s five years ago, and top players Adam Scott, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson, while Padraig Harrington is rolling back the years in search of a third Claret Jug.
And did we forget to mention Irish amateur Paul Dunne, who has broken a host of Open scoring records and is right in the thick of things?
Fortunately, the taskmasters here at SportsJOE, not only permit, but encourage our viewing of Monday golf, but if your bosses aren’t so flexible, maybe calling in sick is best all round.
And The Open organisers have helpfully tweeted out a doctor’s note, signed by an Old medic called Tom Morris, to explain your ‘sudden contraction of 24-hour flu’.
We're not suggesting you miss work tomorrow, but just in case you're feeling under the weather…#TheOpen pic.twitter.com/49bGO8tb4V
