On Sunday at Hollywood Lakes Golf Club in Dublin, playing partners Cian Casey and Gavin Ryan both made holes-in-one on the same hole.
The odds of achieving this are simply astronomical, which the club explained on social media.
They said: "An almost unbelievable scene unfolded at Hollywood Lakes Golf Club on Sunday, as friends Cian Casey and Gavin Ryan both made holes-in-one on the same hole, on the same day. 🙌
"The incredible shots happened on the club’s 4th hole, a 129 yard Par 3 with a challenging two tiered green, where two perfectly struck tee shots each found the cup.
"For context, the odds of an amateur golfer recording a hole in one are estimated at 12,500 to 1. The likelihood of two players achieving it on the same par 3, on the same day, sits at roughly 156 million to one.
"A sensational and genuinely rare golfing moment, now etched into Hollywood Lakes history. Congratulations to Cian and Gavin on an outstanding achievement."
