Rory McIlroy’s hopes of winning the British Open were dashed after one under par round on Saturday.
That doesn’t mean that he was going to be forgotten though, no sir.
McIlroy has never been one for making fashion statements, he normally lets his golf do the talking, but if you can’t beat them, join them.
The 28-year-old decided to don an orange/peach/yellow shirt that could well pass off as a Hi Vis jacket.
The Nike polo has caused quite a stir and has even got Fox Sports involved.
Rory McIlroy (-2) tees off!
He's in a bright yellow shirt that might give Rickie Fowler's orange pants a run for their money. #TheOpen pic.twitter.com/jo8p0wclRp

The reaction from the public was mixed, however.

I'm a big fan of Rory McIlroy's yellow shirt💛 in case you were wondering

All over Mcilroy's shirt. Solero.

The Solero comparison is frighteningly accurate too.
Luckily for McIlroy, his top wasn’t the most questionable on show. That honour belongs to 2016 British Open winner Henrik Stenson.
If you’re going to do it, do it right.
