All we need now is for a repeat performance in September.
Darren Clarke got a taste of what it takes to be a victorious European captain as his team thrashed Asia in this weekend’s EurAsia Cup in Korea.
The Irishman will lead Europe against the Americans at Hazeltine as they seek a third consecutive Ryder Cup triumph and an eighth win in ten editions of the event.
A strong European team that included Ryder Cup veterans Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, and several more 2016 hopefuls such as Danny Willett, Andy Sullivan, Victor Dubuisson and Ireland’s Shane Lowry were far too strong for the Asian side led by captain Jeev Milkha Singh, winning this morning’s singles 9.5 to 2.5 to complete an 18.5 to 5.5 overall victory.

The experience will have done the potential Ryder Cup team members no harm at all, while Clarke will undoubtedly have benefitted from setting a tone that his players responded to in style.
