The Late Late Show took Ireland on a journey on Friday night.
From Ryan Tubridy trying to sing along to Christy Moore whilst sitting three inches from the great man and tentatively tapping his feet to the rhythm – or there or thereabouts – to Mel Gibson, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell and John Lithgow all planted on the same sofa talking about the immersion.
But it was Will Ferrell’s attire that captured the nation’s imagination – at least around the midlands direction anyway.
The native of the California parish was sporting the blue and gold of Longford GAA on Friday night for his big appearance on RTE’s primetime show.
Sharing a couch with Gibson, whose mother is from Longford, Ferrell wore the colours of the O’Farrell county and he wore them proudly.

Naturally, the endorsement of Longford sent the country into meltdown.
