What can’t he do?
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much of Diarmuid Connolly during the summer.
Between the 12-week ban and Jim Gavin choosing not to start the player against Tyrone and Mayo, the country was deprived of witnessing his ridiculous talent.
Whatever anybody’s views on the 30-year-old there is no doubting that he is crazy talented and his return to club action with St.Vincent’s proved just that.

On that Friday night in Parnell Park, Connolly was just so much better than anyone else that played and that was inclusive of Paul Mannion, Cian O’Sullivan and Ciaran Kilkenny.
Well, he was back in action again with St.Vincent’s except this time it was in hurling as they played local rivals Craobh Chiarain in the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship.
We had already reported that Connolly along with Con O’Callaghan bossed it at the weekend as the former scored three points from play in a crucial part of the game. Cometh the hour cometh the man as they say.
And each score was as delightful as the next.
He could do it in the tightest of spaces
