It’s all about the valve apparantly
The GAA is littered with incredible free-takers throughout the years.
Jimmy Keaveney,Mikey Sheehy,Larry Tompkins,Maurice Fitzgerald and loads more were all masters of the deal-ball
All knew where the posts were and they all took free kicks from the ground.
However it seems to be an art that is dying out but one man who’s determined to bring it back to life is Cork’s Colm O’Neill
The Rebels sharpshooter has scored 5-34 so far this Spring with 0-24 of that total coming from frees.
The forward is right back to form after suffering two cruciate knee injuries in recent years and he has told TG4 the secret to his unerring placed ball skill.
He aims the vale towards the posts, takes seven steps back, two to the right and then just lamps it over the bar from any angle and any distance.
It’s sounds so simple even we think we could do it.
Only we don’t have even a smidgen of the talent of the former All-Ireland winner.
Spoke with @crossbar13 about free kicks & @OfficialCorkGAA year so far #gaabeo #gaa http://t.co/DLNvBTJQ9H

We’d like to see him take on Bryan Sheehan in a free taking contest.
