Not what we should be talking about
We’re not even a week into the real action of the GAA season but already we perhaps have this year’s GAA buzzword.
Last year it may have been all about ‘Anthony Nash’ but this season we think the word ‘sledging’ could be the new popular conversation topic at the water-cooler.
The sour taste left from the scenes between the minor and senior sides in Ballybofey continued on Friday night as Tyrone issued a statement to completely reject all accusations about their players behaviour last week in the Ulster minor clash against Donegal.
It was claimed on Thursday by both Donegal minor manager Declan Bonner and former senior star Brendan Devenney that a minor footballer was verbally abused about the death of his father from cancer last year by two Tyrone players.
The accusation was a stunning one, and there has been heated debate since the claim was made on Thursday with the Tyrone County Board tonight issuing a statement to refute all claims made against the team and their players. (click to enlarge)
