Tyrone need a forward. Tyrone have a forward.
Natives of the Red Hand county can be forgiven for not getting too carried away with their dismantling of Derry on Sunday.
Yes, they breezed past their greatest rivals at a canter. Yes, they kicked 22 scores spread out amongst 11 different players. And, yes, Darren McCurry scored an absolute beauty with one of the three white flags he raised when he came off the bench.

But, come the Donegal match, come later in the championship if they get there, Tyrone’s firepower are going to be asked more questions once again and, unless they find a new spark, they’ll come up short once again.
They have Lee Brennan though. He might be relatively untried but, by God, he looks the part.

He got seven minutes against Derry and he kicked two points. With the brief action that neutrals have seen the youngster playing, he’s shown himself to be a serious talent – strong, fast, direct, accurate off both feet.
He’s exactly the sort of man Tyrone have been crying out for.
“Out in front, solos off the left, sticks it over off the right,” Colm Parkinson waxed lyrical about the attacker on The GAA Hour.
“Let’s start a campaign for Lee Brennan to start for Tyrone.
“I genuinely think Lee Brennan can make a difference between Tyrone being this team that’s bloody Groundhog Day – we’ve talked about it before – to Lee Brennan actually creating and scoring and causing defenders some serious problems.
“He’s an option for a kick pass and he’s a proper finisher.”
