Spoken like a true country man.
A cold, damp and dark night in Santry was brightened up by the Twitter updates of the Trinity College GAA page who brought the Dublin college’s first round of the division 2 hurling league against Queen’s University to life.
We’re all well used to the drab, boring Twitter updates that let us all know the scoreline, maybe the scorers, but that’s just about it.
More-often-than-not, they’re not doing the game in front of them justice. They have so much scope, so much opportunity to make a difference but they’re content to leave it be.
We want a bit of creativity, we want a bit of personality, we want someone who’ll put their necks on the chopping block and give us a real, honest account of the game.
You’re part of the team, you’re allowed to be biased, you’re allowed to get excited, let us join in the fun.
Trinity enjoyed a comprehensive victory over the Belfast college, to get their senior hurling campaign up and running, and they probably earned a few new Twitter followers along the way, too.
For some reason unknown to us, Trinity College has this reputation as a college that is full of posh people.
When someone tells you they’re in college in Trinity, how often do you go, “ooooh Trinners.”
Their senior hurling team definitely don’t comply to the stereotype.
All the lads.
Forgot to email myself the teamsheet today so here's a shite photo of our panel for tonights senior clash vs @QUBelfast.

The Dublin senior star Cian O’Sullivan wasn’t too bothered about playing two games in two days. Getting down and getting his hands dirty for the cause. No softness here.
Ball Thrown in here in Santry Avenue and Cian O'Sullivan gets the first with a tasty 65..fresh outta a Dublin quarter final yday nall #fairp

F*ck the rugby lads. Hurling is the way to go.
Big Ross Gorey kindly decided to give ruggers training the miss tonight and has gone and scored a scorcher of a goal #fairp

That man again.
Ross, unhappy with the two scores Queens have got has roamed out from the square to ping one over the shoulder from far out
TCD 1-2

Hate when a cold sore pops up out of nowhere.
Aaron Coffey in at corner forward is causing absolute havock for the Queens full back line, popping up out of nowhere like a durty cold sore

You’ve a stick for a reason Mark.
Sully goes on a run from the backs up to the way into the full forwards and hands it off to Mark Corry who tries (and fails) to kick it in
— Trinity College GAA (@TCDGAA) October 9, 2017
Sully cut him deep.
Sully turns to Corry afterwards like yer ma when you're caught drinking at the age of 14 .. "Not mad, just dissapointed"

Heeney saw the name on the front pages of Tuesday morning’s newspapers.
Ciaran Heeney puts a Queens man flat on his hole, sees the posts opening up in front of him and hits a tremendous wide there#nameupinlights

Ease up now, Butler.
Hate to say it cos he'll go home and wank over this tweet tonight but Butler takes on 2 Queens men a gets a tantalising score off the hurl👌🏻

It’s not all about you, Ciano.
Cian O'Riain Broin is crying in the dressing room here, saying our stats man has it wrong and he DID get two points 🤔
