“Them boys need to be on the field tomorrow morning.”
Dublin 1-19 1-12 Roscommon
Roscommon manager Davy Burke said that his team has trained 65 times this season so far, but never had a full squad together for any of those sessions.
The Rossies lost to Dublin in Croke Park on Saturday night, and despite only being a point down at half time, with plenty of positives to build on, the home team started to turn the screw as a Con O’Callaghan-inspired performance meant that Burke is still currently without a win in the league.
The Connacht team have been missing several men due to the Sigerson Cup and they are also still waiting on players returning from St Brigid’s, after their run to the senior All-Ireland club final last month.
After the defeat, Burke cited that the absence of these players has been a big problem, and has thrown down the gauntlet for them all to return immediately.
“We have trained 65 times and we have had our full squad together zero times, and that’s a big problem.
“You can blame colleges, clubs, whoever we want, but if we want to compete at this level, them boys need to be on the field tomorrow morning, it’s as simple as that.”
'It's very very hard competing at this level when you're not getting the decisions right.' 👀

Roscommon will play Monaghan next week – another team who are struggling to get points on the board, although they did win their opening match against Dublin so at least have two points from that match.
Burke continued: “It’s an absolutely huge (game), there are eight points available, four games to go, Monaghan lost so The Hyde will be interesting next Sunday, that’s a massive game.
“We are at home – we went to Clones last year and they gave us a lesson, so we will see what happens next weekend.”
