Group 1 of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship could be getting a sprinkle of stardust.
Not that the likes of Cuala’s David Treacy and the Schutte brothers don’t have their appeal, but their local rivals on the far side of the N11, Kilmacud Crokes, are reportedly close to signing a four-time All-Ireland winner.
Club source tells me Paul Galvins transfer to @KCrokesGAAClub is in process. It's thought he will play hurling only. Great move for both #gaa

Newstalk’s Oisin Langan broke the story last night, and the Herald have since got confirmation that the 36 year old has approached the Stillorgan club about playing hurling.
From the Kerry hurling hotbed of Finuge, Galvin has won divisional and senior county championships with Feale Rangers and Lixnaw respectively.
As yet it is not known whether the former Kerry wing-forward (who retired from intercounty football for the second time in the wake of last year’s All-Ireland defeat to Dublin) will line out for the south Dublin powerhouse’s football team.
Kilmacud are currently tied at the top of Group 1 of the Dublin SHC with Cuala, with whom they drew 2-12 to 0-18 last month. While there are no guarantees Galvin will play senior hurling for Crokes, the prospect of him lining out for any of the club’s many, many teams is sure to draw a crowd.
