Sean Cavanagh will look mighty fine in this retro number
If you want to win an Ulster championship you have to look the part and certainly Tyrone have ticked that box with the unveiling of their new strip for the 2015 season. Mickey Harte’s side have gone back to the look favoured by soccer clubs in the 1960s and 1970s for the inspiration behind their kit for the forthcoming league and championship with a round collar replacing the old vee-neck on their latest O’Neills creation
The jersey also includes three stars on the sleeves to indicate the number of All-Ireland titles the Red Hand have enjoyed, tasting success in 2003,’05 and ’08.
Rumours that Kerry or Dublin are thinking of doing similar are unconfirmed at this stage as they feel there may not be enough space on the jersey to account for all their successes:
Here’s Mark Bradley with the very pleasing-on-the-eye red version
It was officially launched this morning in the Garvaghy training centre
