Cork is rising.
Jesus, you know there’s a hell of a buzz in the county when over 10,000 people have squashed themselves into Páirc Uí Chaoimh for an intermediate club game on a Wednesday night.
Valley Rovers and Blarney came head to head for a championship clash on a beautiful midweek evening in Cork and, by God, the people flocked in their numbers to see it.
On the first night of the official reopening of Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the Rebel county showed off its glorious new stadium to the world and the Leesiders lapped it up and why the hell wouldn’t they?
10,749 the official attendance at @PaircUiCha0imh tonight!

The amount of people who made the trip to the new stand to watch an intermediate clash was incredible and the magnitude of the event was captured brilliantly by Conor Loughnane.
Imagine these players running out onto that surface with all those onlookers.
That stand will work its way into its own folklore.
Just look at the before and after photos.

It really is a work of art.
And, yes, crucially, it has all the leg room you could hope for.

And even the kids get a mention in front of 10,749 spectators.
Stadium announcer called out all the names of the underage players at half time. Class touch. #PaircUiChaoimh pic.twitter.com/MmbF92EaQB
