New O’Neills jersey drops today and it has to be the finest in all of America

Conan Doherty

Listen, it’s very easy to become addicted to jersey porn.

You tell yourself it’s just one time, you tell yourself you’re only going to have a little peak – that you’re in total control of it. Then you say you’ll go back for a second, just to see what’s going on. Before you know it, you’re hiding in dark corners loading up jpegs at every available opportunity.

GAA in America has been growing from strength to strength in recent years and, this summer alone, the States are hosting some of the finest current footballers that Ireland has to offer in what will be a rip-roaring championship.

Well, if you’re a fan of the football, that’s okay. But others are here for the jerseys and, in America, they do them right.

Now, O’Neills are making waves at the other side of the Atlantic with a piece of knitted perfection.

Delco Gaels are a proud, historic GAA club that offer camogie, hurling and football to girls and boys from the ages of four right up to minors. They are the largest and longest-established club of their type in Pennsylvania and they provide Gaelic games to natives of Delaware County and ex-Pats alike from January right through until October.

What is most spectacular about Delco Gaels is that, for the last 12 years, they have been making the trip across the pond every single season to participate in the Féile Peil na nÓg and, in 2018, they’re kitted out better than ever.

On Wednesday, O’Neills are releasing the pristine jersey for general sale and it really is worth having a look at.

From today on, it will be available to buy online from the O’Neills store and will be rolled out in shops around the country too.
