Perfect for the weekend that’s in it.
Ireland remembers the 1916 Rising this Easter weekend and there will hardly be a person in any corner of the country who will be unaware of the significance of the events 100 years ago.
The seven signatories may be centre of much of the focus of activities across the country, but O’Neills, and one special GAA club in Antrim, will be remembering another hero of the failed rebellion.
Roger Casement may be more associated with Banna Strand in Kerry and the failure of the scuttled Aud to land arms in Ireland.
However, the former British government diplomat has been remembered with a special 1916 jersey in his honour, and that of a GAA club in his name, just for this weekend.
And it is a beauty.

It also contains a direct quote from the Proclamation on the back of the collar.
Casement’s own role may have ultimately ended in failure, but his participation in trying to help the Irish Rebellion, as well as his subsequent execution for treason, has made him a national hero to many.
