The GAA in February is about as far away from glamour as you can get.
Pitches are wet, supporters are wet, and if you’re a player who comes off the pitch with your shorts the same colour as when your mammy took then out of the dryer this morning, well you just didn’t try hard enough.
And it also means that journalists get to visit exotic places that they may never have seen or heard of before in a special Allianz Football league road trip.
That’s not quite the case today for Clare and Tipperary considering they are neighbouring counties, but even the most hardened members of the fourth estate could hardly imagine they would be viewing today’s second round game at Sean Tracey Park, the home of Arravale Rovers, like this.
We’re no experts, but we reckon that looks like the back of an articulated truck, with some blue rope to keep the hacks in, and the rabid crowds out.

It’s rough, it’s ready  and sure what more would some professionals want only a few seats, a table and a grand view of the pitch?
