Listen: Radio Kerry brought the Copa America to their coverage of the Munster final

'A copybook penalty by James O'Donoghue'

Kevin McGillicuddy

Not to be outdone Radio Kerry have brought us some more solid audio gold

Earlier we had Galway Bay FM’s dramatic description of Joe Canning’s wondergoal against Kilkenny with Sean Walsh and Conor Hayes absolutely going buck-ape in the press box in Croke Park.

It was a moment of pure genius by all parties concerned, but earlier in the day there was even more drama in Killarney as Kerry hosted Cork in the Munster final.

The game ebbed and flowed almost as much as the numerous pints sunk in the town over the weekend by both sets of supporters, and we can only hope that at least some of the locals had their ears to Radio Kerry’s commentary of the game.

If they did they would have heard Gary O’Sullivan and Weeshie Fogarty move from describing James O’Donoghue’s dodgy  penalty to chatting about Saturday night’s Copa America final, and then to how the jarveys and publicans would celebrate Fionn Fitzgerald’s dramatic last minute equaliser as much as the Kingdom supporters.

It’s very loud so make sure to turn down the speakers or headphones before you listen to the 90 seconds of absolute gold.

H/T to Jerry O’Sullivan
