Only one team was ever getting Bundee Aki’s backing in the 2017 All-Ireland senior hurling final.
It’s all come down to this. We’ve been through all the provincial matches, league games and championship ties and then there were two.
Liam MacCarthy will have a new home this year as Galway and Waterford will duke it out in Croke Park to decide which county have the best hurling team this tiny little spec in the Atlantic Ocean has to offer.
The masses will descend to Croke Park, more will watch the action on screens big and small at home and abroad. Even those who have no horse in this race will tune in to see the spectacle.

Rugby sensation Bundee Aki will be watching the ashes getting clashed in Croker and it’s pretty obvious where his allegiances lie.
The Connacht rugby star may be a New Zealander by birth, but he’s a Galwegian at heart. He had nothing but kind words to say about his adopted home while speaking to SportsJOE last year.
“It’s quite humbling when people take me in as a Galwayman. Especially when you’re an outsider. For me to hear that, it just makes me feel like I’m home.”
He has his Galway jersey on (XXL, we assume) and it fits him well. He’ll be supporting the Tribesmen in Sunday’s final.
