Gaelscoil Bhrian Boróimhe 2-13 Rolestown 2-12
The game of the day.
It was some sight to see managers and selectors patrolling the sidelines and giving instructions to their players through Irish. It was an even better one to see the 10, 11 and 12-year-olds respond to the calls of ‘seas suas,’ ‘lean ar aghaidh’ agus ‘taisteal’ with exactly what was asked of them.

It was those words of Gaeilge wisdom from the Gaelscoil Bhrian Boróimhe management that inspired their talented team to a one point victory in the Corn Mhic Chaoilte final in Croke Park.
The Swords Gaelscoil flew out of the blocks and it looked for all the world as if they were going to romp to victory in this one. Their captain and leader Donach Mac Aoidh was on fire in the first few minutes and he had 1-1 racked up before Rolestown knew where they were. With nippy corner forward Ben Ó Nualáin and half forward Seán Ó Caoláin also chipping in, it would have been easy for Rolestown to have given up the ghost there and then.
But they just kept on plugging away. Half back Brian Kiernan scored a priceless goal and that got them back into it. The Rolestown crowd roared. These boys weren’t finished yet.
