“The GAA ought to be ashamed” – Joe Brolly vents his frustration on Twitter

Lee Costello

“It is a disgrace”

Like GAA fans everywhere, Joe Brolly was subjected to watching the one-sided demolition of Leitrim at the hands of Mayo.

To say it was a “game” of football would be a huge understatement, as both teams need to be at leasing competing to qualify it as a game.

The RTE pundits didn’t even discuss the tactical set-ups of the teams at half-time and just went straight into the structure of the GAA, and what’s wrong with it.

Brolly was clearly frustrated at what he was watching and shared his views on Twitter.

“This is most unfair. Really it is a disgrace. Leitrim being humiliated. Everyone’s time being wasted.

“Commentary & punditry team forced to go into patronising mode (“Leitrim giving it their best”, “Lovely effort by Dolan, really deserved a point”).

“GAA ought to be ashamed.”

Obviously the character limit on Twitter wasn’t enough to fully convey his anger and he continues his point in a second Tweet.

“It is enraging that the GAA inflicts this humiliation year in year out on small counties that are working so hard to keep communities healthy and playing the games.”
