Sometimes it’s brain against brawn.
Sometimes it’s nerve against aggression. Sometimes it’s skill against strength. Other times, it’s just Colm Parkinson against Kieran McGeeney.
Wooly has taken some punishment already.
He’s fought Kenny Egan, he’s been shouldered by Diarmuid O’Sullivan and he’s taken pelts from sliotars all in the name of… we’re not really sure actually.
On the latest GAA Jackass, the host of SportsJOE’s The GAA Hour took on Armagh legend and Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney but he didn’t even have a ball to use this time.
Kieran McGeeney once famously said after that horrendous International Rules game back in 2006 where brutality was more the order of the day than competition:
“If you want to play football, say you want to play football and we’ll play football. If you want to box, say you want to box and let’s box.”
He could always handle himself in those exchanges with the Australians and he’s been training in Straight Blast Gym for years now so he knows full well how to move.
Colm Parkinson, despite conceding the weight advantage, the experience advantage and the ability advantage, still went for it. Why wouldn’t he?
The task was simple. Last 60 seconds with Kieran McGeeney in a bout of Jiu-Jitsu.
What could go wrong?
