There’s no rest for the wicked.
Not that Eoin Cody, Dean Mason or Darragh Corcoran wanted to leave their hurleys down anyway.
Just three days ago, the trio won an All-Ireland club championship with Ballyhale Shamrocks but come Wednesday, they were hopping off the ground again.
The win was celebrated, the partying was done, it was time for hurling again. That’s how these boys do it.
St Kieran’s College were out in a Croke Cup semi-final down in Waterford on Wednesday and in typical Kilkenny fashion, the win was in the vapours and it was onto the next one.
Winning is the culture down there.

Mason, who impressed with a number of sharp saves in Croke Park was again between the sticks for his school.
Cody, the highly rated corner forward who sold many a dummy on Paddy’s day lined out at 11 for Kieran’s while Corcoran, an up and coming talent, was in the half back line for Tom Hogan’s men.

They say success breeds success and the lads battled hard to experience that winning feeling again. CBC Cork – winners of the Munster senior schools rugby Cup at the weekend – were the opposition and they put up a brave fight down in the sunny south east, but Kieran’s were always a step ahead.
The boys in black and white started the brighter with the aid of the breeze with that man Cody in particular, showing no ill-effects of the quick turnaround. He hit 0-4 in the first half to help his school to 0-9 to 0-8 lead.
CBC threatened in the second half, ensuring a few hairy moments down the stretch, but Kieran’s always had that bit in hand and they held on to win by two on a scoreline of 0-17 to 0-15.
Sharpshooter Cody ended his afternoon with 0-8, (0-3 from play) to his name and that would prove crucial in his school reaching a second successive Croke Cup final where they’ll take on Pres Athenry.
