GAA fans will get the chance to watch Dublin play for free next week

A great chance to watch the All-Ireland champions

It’s all coming to a close.

The club season is winding down and the only GAA we get the watch is the club championships at the weekend.

We had the All-Ireland, we had the International Rules and now it’s time for the Provincial finals to be played.

And then it’s Christmas.

We’ll be without any GAA until the Dr McKenna Cup and the likes return at the start of January and then the National League at the end of the month.

So, it’ll be a while until you see your inter-county team play again, unless you’re from Dublin.

The All-Ireland champions are set to face the UCD in the official opening of Billings Park next Thursday, 30 November.

The official opening of the pitch takes place at 7:30 pm with the game due to throw in at 8 pm.

The pitch is named after Dave Billings, Billings passed away in April 2015 after a lifetime involved in GAA,

Billings was a former selector for the Dublin senior footballers, under-21 footballers and hurlers and was Gaelic Games director with UCD as well as being a former Dublin senior footballer.

The Dublin footballers and hurlers will both then be in action on 23 December for the annual Dublin Bus/Dubs Stars game which will be hosted by St.Vincent’s this year.

The O’Byrne Cup and Walsh Cup will resume on 3 January.
