World Cup 2022 Day 10: All the major action and talking points

SportsJOE

Four games are on today but note the time changes.

Welcome to day ten of the FIFA World Cup 2022, and the action isn’t showing any signs of stopping as there are still four live games on today.

First up we have Ecuador vs Sengal and the host nations Qatar play the Netherlands, both of which are on at 3 pm.

Then the two late games this evening are Iran vs USA and a very interesting tie between England and Wales which is being dubbed as ‘The Battle of Britain.’

Wales have been far from impressive during this World Cup, with Gareth Bale and co struggling to find any real form, but despite England’s impressive win on their opening game, they are not yet qualified.

There is a chance, that should Wales win the game, then England won’t qualify for the knockout stages, so it is all to play for this evening.

All of yesterday’s action at the 2022 World Cup.

Yesterday’s games brought equal drama and entertainment, but the real talking point was, and always seems to be, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old looked much more lively in Portugal’s game against Uruguay, and it even looked like he scored the opening goal of the game.

However, with a closer look, it appears that he actually never got a touch to get on the end of Bruno Fernandes’ cross, so the goal went down the Manchester United midfielder rather than the ex-United star.

It was Fernandes who then scored a second, this time from the penalty spot, and was only given that responsibility because Ronaldo was substituted by that stage.

Elsewhere, Cameroon drew with Serbia in a six-goal thriller, Ghana beat South Korea 3-2, and Brazil edged past a stubborn Switzerland side 1-0.
