Our money is going on Gerard Pique for the most drawn out transfer talk award for winter. The Barcelona centre-back has been linked with a move to Chelsea and a return to Old Trafford after falling foul of new boss Luis Enrique. The Barca manager is set for crisis talks with Pique after the international break. (Daily Mirror)

Arsenal are really taking the success of Alexis Sanchez to heart and are planning to go back to Barcelona for more. The Gunners are reported to be set for a €38m raid to bring Dani Alves and Pedro but face competition from Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool for the pair. (Daily Express)

In Irish news, Liam Miller has signed for Melbourne City on a short-term deal after leaving Brisbane Roar by mutual consent. Miller, 33, won 21 caps for Ireland and has been playing in Australia since 2011.
