WATCH: We could certainly do with some finishing like this from Daryl Murphy in France

Clinical

Darragh Murphy

Your goalkeeper can narrow an already difficult angle and your central defender can cover the far post but Daryl Murphy is still going to score.

The Ipswich striker fired home his seventh of the season, the winner in Ipswich’s 1-0 victory over Brighton on Tuesday night, and it was absolutely clinical.

The Republic of Ireland forward did no harm to his chances of starting at Euro 2016 as he took advantage of a slack pass to sprint past an outpaced defender in the Brighton box.

Murphy picked his spot beyond the closing goalkeeper and struck the ball with such pace that the covering centre-half couldn’t get close to the shot.

Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich find themselves in the final play-off place in a competitive Championship, with 40 points to their name after the halfway point of the season.
