The LA Galaxy striker may have lost his status as automatic starter for the Republic of Ireland, but, with Shane Long injured, and Jonathan Walters suspended, we may have to call on Keane for next month's play-off against Bosnia.
And if he was to score a goal like this then that'd be just great.
Keane ran onto a lofted, long pass, got between the two Portland Timbers central defenders and smashed a volley into the top corner.
Admittedly, the Portland players put no pressure on Galaxy's midfield, and a 35 year old Keane shouldn't be able to run away from a defence, but what a finish.
