Watch: Real Madrid’s new signing is terrible at keepie-uppies

€31.5 million isn’t what it used to be.

Look at Real Madrid, they paid that amount for defender Danilo and all they’ve got in return (so far) is five keepie-uppies.

The Brazilian, signed from Porto, was unveiled today at the Bernabeu and had to perform the obligatory ball juggle in front of his new fans.

600 Madrid supporters made their way to the stadium on a Thursday afternoon, hoping for a glimpse of quality from their new signing, and this was what they got:

danilo 2In fairness, the 23 year old was probably nervous. Besides, being really good at keepie-uppies won’t be much help next season when Gareth Bale fails to track back and he’s left exposed in big Champions League games.

The fans in attendance didn’t seem too bothered by Danilo’s poor juggling skills.

Possibly because, according to Marca, they used the unveiling to chant for David de Gea to join the club.

The Spanish media outlet reported that the Manchester United goalkeeper’s name echoed the stadium and ‘dominated’ Danilo’s big day.
