The international break never fails to take a Premier League casualty.
Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Nemanja Matic all picked up knocks in October’s international break.
It was the turn of Anthony Martial this week, though, as the Manchester United whiz kid sustained a foot injury when his shot was blocked during France’s friendly defeat to England on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old was pictured leaving Wembley on crutches which won’t come as a pleasant sight for United fans who are already short of options up front.
Louis van Gaal takes his side to Vicarage Road for the early kick-off on Saturday, hopeful that Martial will have recovered from his knock in time as the versatile youngster has become a regular starter since signing from Monaco in the summer, having played the full 90 of United’s last seven Premier League games.
Understandably, fans of the Red Devils panicked ever so slightly.
@AnthonyMartial please don't be injured too bad you are a messiah we cannot afford to lose you
