It’s not often that you can take a positive away from a 2-0 defeat.
But Matteo Darmian is one such plus that Manchester United fans will have found in their pre-season loss to PSG last night.
Daley Blind and Phil Jones may have endured a less than fruitful game at the back but United’s new right full stood out as a real talent.
Darmian signed for the Red Devils from Torino this summer and proved his worth with the composure, control and attacking threat he displayed along the right flank for the hour he was given by new boss Louis van Gaal who seemed thrilled with Darmian’s contribution.
Who stood out for Louis van Gaal v PSG? @DarmianOfficial. “I am very pleased with him. And you can see he can play on the right and left.”
