“I would like to work with this team. If it’s okay with you.”
While Liverpool’s recent resurgence brought talk of a potential title challenge, following yesterday’s loss to Newcastle United, Jurgen Klopp was asked if he needs to strengthen his side in January, such is the nature of the modern media.
However, the Liverpool manager was adamant that, despite the extensive fixture list over the Christmas and New Year period, he doesn’t need or want to sign new players, and would prefer to work with those currently in the squad, if that was okay with the journalists in attendance.
Klopp also made a point of not complaining about the heavy fixture list in the Premier League compared to Germany. During the time when the Bundesliga takes a break, Liverpool could have played up to 10 games.
However, Klopp said he was fully aware of the situation in England, and therefore couldn’t complain.
