WATCH: Gaspingly bad goalkeeping gets Argentina out of jail against Mexico

Horrific stuff

Patrick McCarry

Moises Munoz was having a very good game, up until the 85th minute.

Mexico squandered a 2-0 lead over Argentina in last night’s friendly encounter in Arlington, Texas.

El Tri were cruising by the 70th minute after goals from Javier Hernandez and Hector Herrara.

The wheels came off in the closing stages, however, as Munoz rushed out to claim a through-ball and allowed it to bounce past him [1:44 into the video].

That left Ezequiel Lavezzi with the task of keeping the ball in play and squaring for Sergio Aguero to tap in.

Argentina’s second was frameable.

Aguero dinked a nicely weighted ball into the Mexican box that Lionel Messi controlled on his chest before driving home a low volley to make it 2-2.

Messi has now scored 49 international goals and is only seven behind the countries all-time leading scorer, Gabriel ‘The Archangel’ Batistuta.
