Watch: Cesc Fabregas appeared to snub a handshake from David de Gea

Ah, Cesc

Robert Redmond

Can David de Gea’s week get any worse?

The Spanish goalkeeper was all set for a move to Real Madrid on Monday, and had a swanky new suit picked out for his presentation, only for the deal to collapse in the eleventh hour due a paperwork blunder.

Which Manchester United say was Madrid’s fault, and Madrid say was United’s fault.

Either way, De Gea will have to wait till next summer to join the Spanish side, but his rotten run of luck has followed him on international duty.

Firstly, the 23 year old didn’t start Spain’s win 2-0 over Slovakia, with Iker Casillas, the man he was due to replace at the Bernabeu, in goal for the European champions.

Then Cesc Fabregas decided to leave De Gea hanging again, and snubbed an offer to shake his hand.

It could be that the Chelsea midfielder simply didn’t see David’s hand, but it looks like a pointed gesture.

What’s your beef with De Gea, Cesc?

Fabregas was on the wrong end of an epic snub from a one-time teammate himself a few months ago, but that’s no excuse.

You’ve been hanging around with that Jose Mourinho guy too much, Cesc.
