VINE: We won’t be sleeping tonight with Louis van Gaal’s death stare seared into our minds

A scary gentleman

Darragh Murphy

More than anything, we hope that Javier Hernandez leaves Belgium with his life.

The Manchester United forward was given the opportunity to get his first goal of the season when Wayne Rooney, who had already nabbed himself a hat-trick, allowed him to take a penalty late on in United’s 4-0 victory over Club Brugge.

Hernandez slipped as he took the spotter, fell on his arse and saw his kick fly wide of the right post.

With the tie already in the bag, most United fans laughed at the bad luck of their Mexican striker but there was no craic to be had in the United dugout.

Manager Louis van Gaal snapped his head to the left to glare into Ryan Giggs’ soul who couldn’t maintain eye contact with his boss and we can’t bloody blame him.

We. Are. Petrified.
