Wonder Strikes, scrappy goals and a injury to a key player made for an eventful afternoon at Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie each scored a stunning goal as Manchester United recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hull City today. Chris Smalling opened the scoring in the 16th minute, with a comically scrappy headed goal, before Rooney doubled United’s lead before half time. Van Persie completed the scoring for the Red Devils with a thunderbolt from outside the box, his first goal in four games. The only sour note for United was the first-half departure to Angel di Maria, who hobbled off with a suspected hamstring injury.
Chris Smalling scores the scrappiest of scrappy goals.
Rooney with a lovely placed finish.
Robin van Persie with a stunning strike for United’s third goal.
