Some West Ham supporters were less than happy with Mile Jedinak today after the Crystal Palace player appeared to strike one of their players with an elbow.
The Hammers went down 3-1 to Alan Pardew’s men but Diafra Sakho was caught nastily in the face with a challenge Jamie Redknapp claims could’ve left the player with a broken jaw.
Jedinak came through with a tackle late in the game but looked to have followed through on the West Ham attacker with a high and late elbow to the face.
But Alan Pardew stood by his man and said it was a shame that incidents like that grab headlines.
“I have seen the incident and there is no doubt he has gone to aggressively kick the ball into the stand to buy time,” the Palace boss said.
‘” don’t think there is anything malicious in it (the elbow). I hope the authorities look kindly on it. Anyone who knows him knows he doesn’t have nastiness in him.”
