No, Shamrock Rovers didn’t win the Champions League tonight.
They just bloody loved the prospect of upsetting Dundalk’s title celebration party.
Rovers opened the scoring when Danny North slotted home into an empty net after being teed up by Brandon Miele.
The delight was clear for everyone to see as a large group of Rovers fans stormed the pitch in celebration of the potential party-spoiler.

But Richie Towell had other plans as he converted an 84th minute penalty to bring the score level and the game finished 1-1.
And after Cork City failed to score a winner at Drogheda, the Lilywhites were confirmed as back-to-back champions which was a first in their history.
