At least he’s honest.
Rio Ferdinand didn’t sugarcoat his answer when he was asked about whether he’d like to play alongside Daley Blind in the centre of Manchester United’s defence.
BT Sport’s football host Gary Lineker was given a short but sweet answer by the legendary United centre-half as Ferdinand explained that he’d have preferred to have played next to Chris Smalling as he is more aggressive and attack-minded.
That doesn’t mean that Ferdinand doesn’t admire Blind as he did go on to explain that he is a massive player for the current United team as he understands, and can express, Louis van Gaal’s footballing philosophy.
“Blind wouldn’t have suited the way I play!” @rioferdy5 believes his style matches that of @ChrisSmalling. #UCL https://t.co/cxHWRC6vUU
