VIDEO: Prankster tricks Tony Pulis into believing that he’s Neil Lennon enquiring about players

Great effort, this

Darragh Murphy

We can’t blame Tony Pulis for being caught out by this prank phonecall because it does sound pretty damn similar to Neil Lennon.

A young joker rang up the West Brom manager under the guise of the Bolton boss looking to take one of Pulis’ players on loan.

Harry McLaughlin exhibits his best Armagh accent as he enquires about the availability of Baggies’ defender Gareth McAuley only for Pulis to fall for it hook, line and sinker.

“Gareth’s a big deal,” he answers. “He’s playing every week.”

The former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager is kind enough to give the fake Neil his opinion on other defensive options he could sign.

The prankster almost can’t believe he’s getting away with it throughout the two-minute phonecall and, as the chat comes to an end, Pulis even says: “You keep in touch Neil and if you ever need anything, just give us a ring mate”

According to The Mirror, a West Brom spokesperson confirmed that it is indeed Tony Pulis whose voice can be heard in the call.

We have no idea how the chancer got a hold of Pulis’ number but we’re bloody glad he did. Word of warning though, Har, steer clear of any pranks going the way of Nigel Pearson. Too big a risk.
