You can always visit him in Manchester, Franck.
It was officially confirmed yesterday that Bastian Schweinsteiger is joining Manchester United from Bayern Munich.
The German is a bonafide Bayern legend, making his debut in 2002, after coming through the youth team, and winning multiple trophies.
Schweinsteiger won a record eight Bundesliga titles, seven German Cups, the Champions League and World Club Cup, as well as the World Cup last summer.
The 31 year old’s exit from the Allianz Area is the equivalent of Steven Gerrard leaving Liverpool, Ryan Giggs retiring at Manchester United or Xavi’s emotional farewell from Barcelona. So, understandably, those associated with Bayern are sad to see the midfielder leave.
In particular Franck Ribery.
The winger, in this video, looks crestfallen that his pal is to leave the club. Schweinsteiger and Ribery have played together for eight years, but will now have to go their separate ways.
Don’t worry Franck, you can always visit. Or talk to him on Facebook. Or Twitter. Or any number of social media outlets.
Or text, maybe even a phone call. WhatsApp?
Listen Franck, you need to get over this. It’s the digital age, and it’s never been easier to stay in touch.
Grow up.
