There are not many situations in which we a SportsJOE are confident of getting a reaction from you lovely readers but we’re all but certain that, while watching this clip, you’ll let out an “eugh” of empathy for the unfortunate player.
Herediano were taking on America in the CONCACAF Champions League last night when Paolo Goltz hoofed Herediano player Cristian Lagos in the head which led to a brawl on the pitch.

A couple of shocking things followed the kick which is sort of difficult to watch. 1. The referee showed a red card to the player who initially tripped Lagos while Goltz (the noggin-punter) escaped without punishment and 2. Lagos actually managed to play a further 50 minutes.
Unfortunately, Lagos did pass out after the game and was taken to hospital where he is currently being monitored.
