During a game between Newcastle’s U21s and an Ajax reserve side, Vuckic turned on a sixpence and beat five men before he fired a shot past the ‘keeper to instantly become the greatest player on Tyneside since Alan Shearer.
If only John Carver had recalled Vuckic from his loan at Rangers during the Magpies’ tumultuous season then the campaign could have been more fruitful and Carver would still be in a job for which he was wildly unqualified.
