With Manchester United’s place secured in the top four of the Premier League, talk now inevitably turns to the transfer window.

We’re expecting a ludicrously lengthy saga ensuing regarding David de Gea whose future many believe lies at Real Madrid.

Before today’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal, there were suggestions that the United goalkeeper took the time to wave goodbye to the Old Trafford faithful which wouldn’t bode well for the Red Devils.

And after the game, United manager Louis van Gaal was asked about his number one and he claimed that de Gea “shall not leave easily.”

But the Dutchman conceded that it may be difficult to keep a hold of the 24-year-old, saying “he is Spanish and his girlfriend is Spanish and he can go to another great club so it is difficult for him to decide.”
