Video: Does Noel Gallagher want ‘The Brodge’ to take ‘big job’ Manchester City?

The bromance between Gallagher and 'The Brodge' continues

Robert Redmond

Noel Gallagher seems to really have a lot of time for Brendan Rodgers.

The musician, during his appearance on Match of the Day 2 last month, coined a nickname for the Liverpool manager, ‘The Brodge’, and was full of praise for Rodgers.

‘We [Manchester City fans] thought the powers of ‘The Brodge’ were waining, but he’s turning it around,’ Gallagher said.

When the new nickname was mentioned to Rodgers, the Liverpool manager had a good laugh, saying he was a fan of Gallagher’s music.

And now the bromance seems to have developed further.

Gallagher was been interviewed for Sky Sports show Soccer AM, and once again the work of the Liverpool manager came up. ‘Superhero, isn’t he? ‘The Brodge’, Gallagher said.

‘I think if he gets Liverpool into the top four without [Luis] Suarez, it’s arguably a bigger achievement than getting to second with Suarez. And they’ve started winning without Gerrard’.

Gallagher also said: ‘there’s a big job waiting for him somewhere, not that Liverpool’s not a big job’, before giving a cheeky look  to the camera.

With City manager Manuel Pellegrini under pressure recently, is Gallagher suggesting he’d like ‘The Brodge’ to be the Chilean’s successor?

Gallagher also spoke about former City player Mario Balotelli, who he admits wasn’t a great striker during his time at the club, but is a ‘dude’.
