Getting a sending off in less time than it takes heat up a bowl of porridge is oddly impressive.
It was a night to forget for Perth Glory’s Ruben Zadkovich. The midfielder received his marching orders just 17 seconds after coming on as a substitute for the Aussie side.
The ref showed him a straight red card for an absolute horror show of a studs up challenge that almost cut his opponent in two. Wellington midfielder Vince Lia looked in serious pain after being on the receiving end of this abysmal foul. The referee had no choice but to brandish a red card, thus bringing Zadkovich’s brief but memorable cameo to a close.
Despite going down a man after the hour mark, Perth Glory managed to defeat Wellington 2-1.

This type of swift recklessness is reminiscent of that infamous five-second yellow card by born again film star Vinnie Jones while he was with Leed’s United.
